  1. Hello, I’m knitting a baby dress and having trouble understanding how to knit in the round on straight needles, I have never done that. I have knitting in the round on circular needles. First of all can u help? I have googled how to knit in the round on straight needles, but it doesn’t follow my pattern. could I just knit these on circular needles?
    Thank You,
    Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy Lou,
If the pattern is written in the round, it would make sense to knit it on circular needles. It sounds like you are on the right track. Unless the pattern says to knit it flat then seam it up, I think you can use circulars.

  2. Hello,

With the decrease row you have mentioned, you would be decreasing 2 stitches every 16 rows 4 times for a total of 8 sts decreased over 64 rows

It’s the “at the same time” that worries me — does the pattern call for other decreases as well? Have you tried messaging the pattern designer?

    Hugs
    Liat

    I hope this helps :)

  3. Hi I’m now doing a dress and is stuck on
At the same time decrease every 16th row 4 times as follow
    Decrease row ( RS ) : p1,p2tog tbl,work to the last 3 stitches p2tog p1
And currently I have 53 stitches when all is done is left 36 stitches.so no matter how I calculate is not the same stitches when done.would like to ask what does it really mean

  4. I loom knit, I know it is not knitting technically but I need some help. I want to knit a cowl with some finger weight yarn using the linen stitch but all I have found of doing that stitch online is to cast on an even number of pegs but I found a needle knitting pattern that says to cast on an odd number of stitches. What should I do?

  5. i feel really retarded, but i just cant figure our knitting. I have used probably some of the easiest videos in the world to help me get the basic knitting stich down. I know how to cast and stuff, but the kitting stiches are just not coming to me. Do you think you post a video or give me a link to a really slow moving and super easy how to? thank you that would be great.

    Sincerely

    Carlee V

  6. I am a beginning knitter working on my first project, an afghan made with homespun yarn, double strand, with a pattern. I think I’ve now made every mistake possible. I’ve looked up many videos for help, and yours are by far the best. Slow, clear, in focus, did I say slow? Thanks for keeping me going.

    1. Yay! Linda, thanks for commenting! I’m so happy to know that my videos are helping you. If you’ve made every mistake possible, you are probably learning a LOT! I’m so proud that you are sticking with it and finding the resources you need. Stay in touch and let me know how else I can help!

      1. I am currently knitting a Stylcraft alpaca chunky women’s cardigan pattern, I am stuck on where it states on the back Row 2:Knit the k sts, Purl the p sts. Could you tell me what this means please? Thanks
